Need Help Finding or Accessing Resources?

Welcome to the CCUK E-Library Help Center. Below are the three most common support areas to guide you quickly to the information or assistance you need. If you cannot find a solution, please utilize our "Ask a Librarian" service located at the bottom of this page.

Login Issues

How to resolve access errors and set up remote access.

Research Assistance

Technical Support

Browser compatibility, PDF viewers, and software help.

Troubleshooting Access & Login

Solutions for the most frequent issues students encounter when trying to access digital resources.

Ensure you are using your official CCUK student ID number and portal password. The E-Library uses the same credentials. If the problem persists, clear your browser cache and try using a private/incognito window. If you are outside Kano, verify your VPN or proxy settings are correctly configured for remote access (see Off-Campus Access Setup link above).
This usually means you accessed the publisher's site directly instead of going through the CCUK Library Portal. To ensure free access via our institutional subscription, always begin your search on the E-Library Search page or directly from the A-Z list of databases. Do not use generic Google searches for full-text articles.
The Library does not manage your password. You must reset your password via the main CCUK Student Portal. If you are unable to access the main portal, please contact the University IT Helpdesk for assistance with password synchronization. The Library can only confirm your status as an enrolled student.

Research, Citation, & Training

Get help with your assignments, finding obscure sources, and correctly citing your work.

You can book a 30-minute one-on-one consultation through the Digital Clinic booking form on the Library homepage. We offer personalized help for in-depth research, finding specialized data, or advanced citation formatting. Appointments are available Monday to Friday.
The Library maintains comprehensive Citation Style Guides which are linked in the Quick Links section. We also hold regular 'Ace Your Project' workshops (check the News & Events page) focused specifically on citation practices and avoiding plagiarism.
Please use the Inter-Library Loan (ILL) Request Form. We will attempt to acquire the material either digitally or physically from our network of partner institutions. Note that this service may take up to 1-2 weeks. For instant digital needs, please search the Open Access collections first.
